This error happens because Microsoft has implemented a new security feature for Windows 10 that blocks any app that does not have a 2016 security signature. When running some applications, apps or setup installers, the programs may be blocked from running in Windows 10 with the following error message in user acccount with the image prove: this app has been blocked for your protection windows 10

#1. Open Run and type: secpol.msc

#2. Click on “Local Policies”

#3. Click on “Security Options”

#4. In the right pane, last section see double-click on User Account Control: Run all administrators in Admin Approval Mode”.

 #5. Select  “Disabled”,  Click “Apply”.

#6. Restart the computer.

 

 

Method 2: Fix This App Has Been Blocked For Your Protection

Windows Defender SmartScreen acts as a sort of guard dog while you use Windows 10. It will block you from opening some apps if they come from an unknown place or are created by an unknown publisher. If you feel that it is safe, you can open the software by disabling the Defender Smartscreen.

#1. Launch Windows Defender Security Center from your Start menu, desktop, or taskbar.

Method 3: Fix This App Has Been Blocked For Your Protection

The built-in Administrator account in Windows 10 has less restriction that user accounts in Administrators group, even when UAC is enabled. Thus, the “this app has been blocked for your protection” error can be fixed by running the installer or executable in the built-in Administrator account.

#1. Search in the start menu “Command Prompt” then right-click on it and choose Run as Administrator

#2. Command Prompt type “net user administrator /active:yes”. and hit enter. You should see the message saying “command completed successfully”.

#3. Launch Start Menu once again and right-click on user-account title at the top-left of the screen. Then click Sign-out.

#4. At the login screen, log into the Administrator account and you will return to the Desktop of that user profile.

#5. Run or install the blocked software. Once installed, the application would run without being blocked by UAC SmartScreen.

#6. You can choose to switch user or sign out the Administrator account to sign back in to your user account.
